Over three intensive days, from August 15 to 17, junior high school teachers from Divine Word College of San Jose underwent an online Inset focused on equipping them to navigate the complexities of the modern educational landscape. With the theme "Teaching Students to be Future Ready in a VUCAD World with 21st Century Skill and Mastery of MATATAG Learning Competencies," the Inset aimed to prepare educators for the implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum. Participants were immersed in a series of sessions designed to deepen their understanding of key educational frameworks. These included a re-examination of the Power and Support Standards, the VUCAD (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous, and disruptive) world, the REAL (relevant, experiential, authentic, and learner-centered) approach, and the Acquisition-Make Meaning-Transfer model. The Inset also delved into the GRASPS (Goal, Role, Audience, Situation, Product, Standards) framework, a powerful tool for designing student-centered learning experiences.

A core component of the Inset was the development of essential skills for curriculum design and implementation. Teachers were guided through the process of creating standard-based curriculum maps and learning plans aligned with Grade 7 standards and learning competencies. The training emphasized the integration of 21st-century skills to foster innovation and critical thinking among students.

By the end of the Inset, teachers emerged equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to create engaging and effective learning environments. The training provided a solid foundation for the successful implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum and the cultivation of future-ready learners.
