DWCSJ Basic Education Welcomes SY 2024-2025

The entire Basic Education student body gathered at the school quadrangle around 8 AM on July 31, 2024, to kick off the new school year with a Welcome Walk across the campus. With smiles on their faces and balloons in hand, the students walked with pride and enthusiasm as the school year began. The parade was enhanced by the lively music of the school's drum and lyre band, setting a celebratory tone for the day.

After the Walk, students proceeded to the Fr. McSherry Gymnasium for a short program. The Basic Ed Principal, Dr. Jason Valera, welcomed both returning and new students. He expressed his wishes for an enjoyable and enriching year ahead, encouraging everyone to embrace every learning opportunity that comes their way. Dr. Valera reminded the students that the school is here to guide them in achieving their goals and emphasized that, beyond academics, good values and character are essential. He challenged every Divinian to be known for their discipline and exemplary behavior, underscoring, "Basta Divinista, may disiplina." The program was filled with fun and excitement, featuring a variety of performances from dances to games. The student band group, Refrain, provided lively music for the entire student body, adding to the energetic atmosphere of the event.
